    Old Woman MISSION DOLL
    A very rare, circa 1910, carved wood Door of Hope Doll in the image of an older woman.  She is carved from pearwood and has the details of age with crows feet by her eyes, smile lines, slight bags under her eyes, and furrows in her forehead.  She is dressed in her original silk clothing with patterned blue pants with pink trim, a black silk skirt, and a patterned silk tunic or jacket.  Her hair is painted with wispy lines and there is a carved bun in the back.  On her bound feet are patterned, silk, slippers.  This beautiful doll measures approximately 10 1/2″ tall and is in very good condition.  The carved wood looks good with only a couple of scratches on her hair, on one side of her head (see photo).  Her clothes still look good with only a couple of holes in the thin, black, silk skirt.  Everything looks great on this very rare, antique, Door of Hope Doll!  She will certainly compliment any collection!
