    Key Features
    You’ll receive 25+ isopods
plus our mixed seeding culture of Tropical White, Pink and Temperate springtails (combination of
    adults + juveniles)
    Isopods:
Dwarf isopods are small. Dwarf Whites are 2-4 mm and Dwarf Purples are even smaller at 1-2 mm .  Armadillidiums and Powder Blues are much bigger at 3-13 mm. Dwarf isopods and Powder Blues have softer bodies while vulgar grays have a harder shell. Both are crustaceans that serve both as tank janitors and as a supplemental food source for herps and invertebrates
    Their adaptability make
them ideal for a wide variety of reptile, amphibian, and invertebrate
    habitat enclosures
The diminutive size of the dwarfs make them a good choice in vivarium where larger isopods would otherwise be
seen and eaten by its inhabitants
    Springtails:
    Springtails are soft-bodied
micro-insects that feed on decomposing leaf litter, animal feces, and
dead plant material making them an essential element for the overall
    health of your vivarium ecosystem
Once established a springtail population will continue
to reproduce on its own, while maintaining your habitat’s ecosystem and
providing a steady supply of supplementary food for its inhabitants.
    Isopods
    Our isopods are cultured in
    a warm, moist mixture of
    sphagnum
peat moss, oak leaves and oak bark
They’re raised on a diet of
fresh vegetables, high protein fish flakes, and the rich organic substrate
    in which they are bred
    Our isopods are hand-picked
and packaged the same day they’re ordered so they will arrive at your door
    fresh and lively
    They’re packaged in 2 and 8 oz.
deli cups filled with sphagnum peat moss and leaf litter or moist paper towels for the grays
    Isopods are omnivorous
    (eating both plants and animals)
Both species do well at room temperature
    Isopods do however breed
more prolifically at higher temperatures (mid 80’s Fahrenheit)
    Keep isopods in warm, dark
    location out of direct sunlight
    Check food and water source
    every 2-3 days
    Feed culture fresh
vegetables and high protein fish pellets
    Do not overfeed. Feed only
when previous food has been completely devoured
    Springtails
    Springtails are
micro-insects that feed on decomposing leaf litter, animal feces, and dead
plant material making springtails an essential element for the overall
health of your terrarium or vivarium ecosystem
    They’re also an important
dietary supplement for dart frogs, small salamanders and newly
    metamorphosed amphibians of many kinds
    Once established a
springtail population will continue to reproduce on its own, while
maintaining your habitat’s ecosystem and providing a steady supply of food
    for your animals.
    Our seeding cultures are a
minimum of 14 days old and are teaming with hundreds of active adults and
    juveniles
They’re reared in 8 oz food
grade plastic containers that retain moisture necessary for fungi growth
    and springtail hydration
    Seeding cultures are
comprised of an organic mixture of sphagnum peat moss
    Seeding cultures are ready
to mix directly into desired habitat
    To seed habitat with seeding
culture simply empty part or whole culture into habitat
